Weekly Parent Newsletter
September 1, 2016

Every Thursday school is in session you will be receiving a link to the “Weekly Parent Newsletter”. Please read carefully. This will contain All Saints Academy, St. Cloud news for you and your family.

NOTE: New information will be under New News.  Previously published information will be located under Bulletin Board.

We are a Nut-safe building.  All snacks and lunches need to be peanut-free and nut-free. There is a snack list on School Speak under Announcements.  Thank you for helping to keep our school safe for all of our students.

NEW NEWS
Bussing Begins When?
District 742 will begin bussing next week, beginning Tuesday, September 6th.  If you have questions regarding bussing, please contact District Bussing at 253-9370.

School Speak Needs You
School Speak is a school online management system that ASA uses.  It is a secure portal that allows us to store information and communicate with our families.

If you are new to All Saints Academy or have never logged onto School Speak you need to create a password.  Please contact the office, 251-5295 so that we may send you instructions via your email.  Due to security issues, the email will only stay in your inbox for a few days. For those who have used School Speak, the username & password you had last year is still the same.

We would like all parents to log in and update their profile, too.  This technology allows us to provide more information, communicate with parents and offer useful tools for everyone who is a member of our school community.

Need Childcare on No School Days?
Please note that Funzone, our after school child care, has a few spots still available for Fri., Sept. 2nd .  Please call or email ASAP to reserve a spot for your child, sc.funzone@allsaintsmn.org or 320-237-2463.

Annual St. Peter’s Pancake Breakfast in support of ASA
On Sunday, September 11thThe Knights of Columbus will be hosting a breakfast at St. Peter’s Church.  The cost is $7/person, 5 and under are free.  All proceeds will go towards tuition assistance at ASA!  Each year we  ask St. Cloud parents/families to help working this breakfast and/or selling tickets.   8 (eight) tickets will be sent home in this Thursday folder in an envelope. The complete cost of the ticket can be applied towards your fundraising requirement of $350/child.  You must turn in the money and unused tickets to the office to get fundraising credit.
Volunteer at the breakfast! If you are new to the All Saints Academy family, this is a good time to meet people by working the breakfast. The students help too – it’s a great way for them to provide service to their community.
All hours go towards your family’s 15 volunteer hours/year.  We're using SignUp.com (the leading online SignUp and reminder tool) to organize our upcoming SignUps.
Here's how it works in 3 easy steps:
1) Click this link to see our SignUp on SignUp.com: http://signup.com/go/59dg8S

3) Sign up! It's Easy - you will NOT need to register an account or keep a password on SignUp.com.

Free/Reduced Hot Lunch Program
Parents, it is not too late to send in applications for free and/or reduced hot lunches. You can pick up an application at the office. When students receive free/reduced lunches, our hot lunch program receives a reimbursement from the government, benefitting our lunch program. If you have questions regarding this program, please contact Mrs. Bristow at 251-5295 or marissa.bristow@allsaintsmn.org.

We Need Playground Supervisors
Our goal is to have two parents who have children in PreK – 6th grade, on the playground every day to assist school staff with the recess period.
Recess is 11:00 am – 12:25 pm.  There will be a form in your packet at Paper Work Night that will need to be completed.

For the added safety of our children we ask that all families volunteer for recess supervision 2-3 times per year. A schedule will be available for families to sign up.  If you find your schedule doesn’t allow you to volunteer for Recess Duty, you may opt out by paying $50 which goes towards our paid staff.

When Are Parent Meetings?
All Parent grade-level meetings will be held Tuesday, September 13th.  We invite everyone to gather in the cafeteria for a short school-wide presentation at 6:00 pm.  Grade level teachers will be making their presentation twice during the evening in homerooms at 6:30 & again at 7:00 pm.  This will give you an opportunity to hear all the specifics for each grade level that evening.  More information about the evening will be in next week’s parent newsletter.
