Every Thursday school is in session you will be receiving a link to the  “Weekly Parent Newsletter”. Please read carefully. This will contain All Saints Academy, St. Cloud news for you and your family.

No school Thursday, November 27 and Friday, November 28th due to the Thanksgiving holiday.
There will be no Weekly Parent Newsletter next week.

1. P/S/T Conferences - Conferences are scheduled for TODAY, November 20th and Monday, November 24th from 3:45 – 7:00 pm. All students in preschool through 6th grade will have scheduled conferences. To access the on-line scheduling please follow this link: http://vols.pt/YNugPt. Then click on your child’s teacher and sign up for the time that suits you best. Note: you will NOT need to register an account or keep a password on VolunteerSpot and VolunteerSpot does not share your email address with anyone. You will receive a reminder e-mail to confirm your scheduled appointment.
5/6th grade parents please schedule a conference with your homeroom teacher.  It is not necessary to schedule a conference with each 5th & 6th grade teacher.
Mary Lou Paul, our Preschool Teacher has added additional conference times on Thursday, Nov. 20th beginning at 11am.
Marj Groseth, our Spanish Teacher will be located in the office at the very top of the main stairs as you come into the school on Monday, Nov. 24th only from 3:45-7:00pm.
Mary Goenner, our Music Teacher will be in the music room on Thursday, Nov. 20th only from 3:45-7:00pm.
Ellen Detra, our Art Teacher will be in the art room on Monday, Nov. 24th only from 3:45-7:00pm.
Josie Moen, our PhyEd Teacher will be in the gym on Monday, Nov. 24th only from 3:45-7:00pm.
Lisa Poganski, our Title 1 Teacher will be in the Title 1 room at the very top of the main stairs as you come into the school on both nights from 4-6pm only.

2. Thanksgiving Food Drive - Thank you to all of you who contributed to the Thanksgiving Food Drive. Please note that fresh food items such as turkeys, crescent/dinner rolls, vegetables, etc. may be brought to school on Tuesday, November 25th before 10 AM.

3. Art Smart Snow Make Up Day – Due to the Snow Day on Monday, Nov. 10th, that Art Smart day will be made up on December 8th, 2014 from 3-4pm, for those who were scheduled to attend.

4. Christmas Program – The K-6th grade Christmas Program will be held on Tuesday, December 16th at 6pm in St. Paul’s Church. Please mark your calendars.

Lost & Found - Are you missing any sweatshirts or jackets? How about a pair of mittens or a hat? Please come visit our Lost & Found bin and table in the front entryway. We have a lot of things that are unclaimed by our students which have been gathered in our lunchroom, playground, gym and hallway. Please take a minute and look through the items we have.

5. Lunch Schedule – Recess is after lunch now. Please note that the times for Kindergarten and 2nd grade have switched. The times below are correct. The lunch schedule is as follows:
      11:00 – 5th grade
      11:05 – 6th grade
      11:10 – 4TH grade
      11:20 – 1st grade
      11:25 – 2nd grade
      11:30 – Kindergarten
      11:35  - 3rd grade

6. Spiritwear Sale - We hope many of you took advantage of our online store for ASA spiritwear.  If you missed the ordering window, we have a few items for sale in the office.  You are welcome to come shopping in the main office. Every Wednesday is Spiritwear Day and we invite students, staff and adults to wear their spiritwear on Wednesdays.

7. International Education Week at Cathedral High School - For the first time ever, CHS is celebrating International Education Week. On Saturday, November 22 we will be hosting an International Festival that is free and open to the public. It will be held from 2 to 5 PM in the Commons. Please let your families know about this fun opportunity to learn about the many cultures represented at CHS. All are welcome! 8. Bulletin Board
    St. Cloud Area Youth Basketball begins January 10, 2015 for grades 1-8. Please see the school office for a flyer.
    Please note that from now on the FunZone Monthly Newsletter will be sent to all families by e-mail only (to save on paper and copying costs). If you would like to continue receiving a paper copy, please inform the school office or FunZone.
    Birthday Treats – If your child will be sharing a birthday treat with his/her class this year, we encourage you to be health conscious and peanut/tree nut safe when sending these treats to school. Some healthy snack ideas include grain products (crackers, pretzels, cereal bars), fruit, vegetables, milk products (cheese, yogurt, pudding) or meat/protein (sunflower seeds and cold cuts). If you have questions regarding allergies of students in your child’s class, please contact the teacher or Mrs. Gjerde.
    Sign Up for REMIND - The St. Cloud Campus would like to invite parents/guardians to sign up for REMIND.  REMIND is a safe, free and easy way we can connect with parents through texting.  It allows us to communicate with all parents instantly.  Signing up is done through a unique code to Mrs. Bristow.  Please text to 612-260-4578 and in the message enter @ef392.  It is that easy.  You will be added on to the parent list.
    Santa Paws is coming to the Tri-County Humane Society November 21-23!  Schedule your family holiday portrait today by calling (320) 252-0896, and support animals in need in our community.  For only $35, you will receive 5 professional proofs on a CD with full reproducing rights.  More info at: www.tricountyhumanesociety.org.

11. Recess Volunteers – We are greatly in need of parent volunteers now that the weather is getting colder. Please contact the office to let us know when you will be available. Two parents are needed each day.

2. Veterans Honored at Mass - Tuesday, Nov. 11th is Veterans Day.  We will be honoring all Veterans at our all school mass TOMORROW, Nov. 14th.  If you are a veteran or know of any veterans, you are invited to attend this mass.  Mass will be at 8:15 am at St. Paul’s Church.

3. Week 3: Thanksgiving Food Drive - We are continuing to collect items for our Thanksgiving food drive for the week of November 17th. If you are able, please send Thanksgiving dinner items to school with your child.  The items may be brought in any time during the Week of November 17-21.  Thank you for your generosity.

4. Appropriate Recess Attire - Now that winter has arrived, we wanted to remind parents that children will be going outside for recess. The parent handbook states that boots and snow pants are required if children plan on playing in the snow. For the student’s health and safety, we are asking students to wear their boots to and from school. By wearing their boots outside, tracking in snow and water into the classrooms will be minimized. Thank you for your assistance.

4. Sixth grade teacher, Anne Marie Kimble, was honored at the Leadership in Educational Excellence Awards (LEEA) Ceremony last week - Mrs. Kimble has served the ASA/SPPM community for 7 years as a teacher in grades 5-8. Robert Cavanna, Executive Director of Resource Training and Solutions, noted in his opening remarks, "Teachers are models of excellence. They serve as examples of positive learning and leaders in curriculum decisions. They are a model to other staff and motivate students. Teachers are the Decisive element in giving children hope." Congratulations Mrs. Kimble for this well-deserved honor!
5. Art Smart Begins Monday, November 10thOur Art Teacher, Ms. Detra will be starting a new round of after school art classes for 1st -6th graders beginning next week. If you are interested please bring registration forms to the office ASAP. If you need a registration form or additional information please contact the school office at 320-251-5295.

This is a great opportunity to tour the school, meet faculty, administrators and students and learn more about Cathedral.
