Weekly Parent Newsletter
All Saints Academy, St. Cloud Campus
December 20, 2018
Every Thursday school is in session you will be receiving a link to the “Weekly Parent Newsletter”. Please read carefully. This will contain All Saints Academy news for you and your family.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Please remember that school is not in session from Dec. 22 through January 6th. We will see you on January 7th.

Show your Christmas spirit!
Students are welcome to wear Christmas hats, socks and or shirts on Friday, December 21st. We ask that students adhere to the dress code, and hats will be left in classrooms during Mass!
Christmas Program at ASA
The annual Christmas program is tonight, Thursday, Dec. 20th at 6:30 pm at St. Paul’s Church. The earliest students should arrive is 6:10 pm and K-6 students should go directly to their classrooms.  Preschool students should be brought to the cafeteria and dropped off with their teachers.
Doors to the building will not open until 6:10 pm. Please do not arrive before that time, and advise guests accordingly.
Recess Volunteers Needed this Winter
As we enter the cold winter months our students continue to go outside for recess. We are in great need of volunteers in December, January and February. Please contact Marissa Bristow in the office to sign up for available dates. Our goal is to have two volunteer parents to act as crossing guard/lunch supervision on the lunchroom/playground every day to assist the school staff during the entire recess period. Recess will be 11:00 am – 12:35 pm.
All families need to volunteer for recess supervision 2-3 times this year for the safety of the children. (Parents of half-day preschoolers are not required to volunteer as their children do not participate in lunch recess time.) If you find your schedule doesn’t allow you to volunteer for Recess Duty, you may opt out by paying $50. (Separate charge from Volunteer Requirement. Recess hours are applied to the 15-hours/year of volunteering.) These funds are used to defray the cost of additional paid recess staff. At the end of the school year, families will be charged $50 if they haven’t volunteered for recess.
Thank you all for your help and generosity with your time!
Bake Sale by Catholic Social Teaching Committee
The 6 th grade Catholic Social Teaching Committee, Option for the Poor and Vulnerable, will be hosting the last nut free bake sale after our Friday school mass tomorrow, December 21st. Foster Grandparent Program
Do you know some who enjoys volunteering at school and is 55 or older? Partnering with the Central Minnesota Foster Grandparent Program, we are looking for local adults age 55+ to become part of this exciting intergenerational program. If you know someone who enjoys working with children, would like some extra spending money every month, and has a little time to spare, this could be a wonderful opportunity for them.
As a Foster Grandparent, you would be helping those students that need just a little extra attention so they can succeed. Foster Grandparents help children by reading with them, working on math assignments, completing art projects and much more. Foster Grandparents are also positive role models who demonstrate caring for others by volunteering in local schools.
The Foster Grandparent Program offers many benefits to those who participate, including a tax-free hourly reimbursement, transportation reimbursement for mileage or for using a city bus, orientation, on-going training, health benefits and more. Please encourage older adults you know to consider volunteering in our school as a Foster Grandparent.
