Robotics Summer Camp

ASA is offering a Summer Camp for Robotics featuring VEX Robotics. There will be two groups, grades 2 & 3 and grades 4-6. The camp will be held August 9 th – 13 th . Grades 2 & 3 will meet 9 am – noon. Grades 4 – 6 will meet from 1:00 – 4:00 pm. Space is limited so get your registration form turned into the office. Cost is $125 (includes a snack.) Students need to wear comfortable clothing, and bring a water bottle and lunch. Registration deadline is June 3 rd .

Yearbook Orders

We can still accept your yearbook order. Remember your friends and memories. Cost is $20/book. Click here to order a yearbook for this year: https://forms.gle/1c15sSkh27HskcT98 . Yearbooks will be distributed the last week of school.

No Bussing Available in June

District 742 will not be in session June 1 st , 2 nd and 3 rd . There will be no bussing on those days. The last day students may ride the bus is Friday, May 28 th . ASA’s last day of class is Thursday, June 3 rd for PreK – 5 th grade.

School Supply Ordering

We are partnering with a local St. Cloud company called Impacks to help ease the back to school transition. They have put together school supply packages for each K-6 grade levels. These packs include everything on the list and no extras! So, no need to purchase 36 pencils when you only need 23! Impacks not only bargain shops for you, but delivers the supplies directly to the school already labeled. Additionally, Impacks donates $5 per pack ordered directly to the school. We will be using those dollars to support the needs of students throughout the year. Click here to check out pricing for your grade level: https://myimpacks.com/allsaintsacademy/ Order your school supply pack by June 15th and check that item off your summer list!

There is no obligation to use this program, but it feels like a win-win for both families and the school. The school supply list will be published in early June on SchoolSpeak, as well. We will also send out a spirit wear link in early August when fall folders are ready!

13th Annual Stearns County Breakfast on the Farm

The 13th Annual Stearns County Breakfast on the Farm will be held at Kerfeld Hill-View Farm, near Melrose, on Saturday, June 5, 2021 from 7:30am - 1:30pm. The free event will include a drive-through tour of the Kerfeld’s family-owned and operated robotic dairy farm. Visitors will learn more about how the team at Hill-View Farm cares for their dairy cattle by embracing the latest technology available. A free breakfast and dairy treats will be provided. There will also be opportunities to learn more about agricultural businesses throughout Stearns County and the positive impact farming has on our local communities. Come join the many agricultural community sponsors to celebrate June Dairy Month. Bring the whole family to this agricultural event and see where the dairy products you enjoy at your kitchen table all begin - at a family’s dairy farm near you!

Getting to the event: Parking will be at the Melrose Area High School, 546 5th Ave NE, Melrose, MN 56352. A pilot car will lead attendees to the farm. There will be NO parking or walking at the farm.

Outstanding Balances on Lunch Accounts

All families should look at their lunch balance in School Speak. Prior to Jan. 4, 2021, the cost of a school lunch was $3.00/child. ( Beginning Jan. 4 th , ASA moved to a lunch program that allowed the school to provide free lunches to all students during this pandemic year. This will continue until the end of this school year. ) If there is a negative number, you have money in your lunch account. You do not owe any money. If you see that you have a positive number, this is your past due balance. You are welcome to pay by credit card on School Speak or send a check to the office.

Additionally, if your child has milk with their cold lunch or an extra milk at lunch, the cost is $.50/carton.

COVID Resource on School Speak

ASA has fielded a lot of questions on whether you should send their child to school if they have certain symptoms. A resource has been posted on School Speak that will clarify your decision making. There is a “Parent Morning Checklist” that parents can use when assessing how your child feels.

Please note that if your child has a cough or a fever or two of the less common symptoms (see the decision tree for details), they need to be evaluated by a medical professional before returning to school.

To maintain your child’s health while at school, please remind them of the following”

= Bring a water bottle everyday

= Bring hand sanitizer

= Wear a mask

= Bring spare masks

= Wash and sanitize hands frequently

= Keep physical distance with peers (6 feet+) when possible

What is PAC?

PAC is made up of ASA parents, and it is an integral part of the ASA community. Our mission is to facilitate and support the development of a Christ-centered environment through connections between home and school. Our vision is to support the growth and development of our youth through fundraisers, volunteerism, and family activities. We also facilitate staff appreciation efforts, parent development opportunities and activities inside and outside of the classroom for our children.

What does PAC do?

This year, we plan to provide funding for in-school “field” trips, Saint Nick treats, and Catholic Schools Week, to name a few. PAC also typically hosts multiple community building events throughout the year. This year we will be taking extra precautions for the health and safety of our staff and families. We will NOT be hosting the annual ASA Halloween Fest this year. However, we remain hopeful that we will be able to celebrate together later in the school year with our annual outdoor Spring Family Picnic.

Where do PAC funds come from?

We ask families to make an annual suggested donation of $25 to support PAC’s efforts for the benefit of the entire ASA community. Please make checks payable to PAC. We will also be bringing Scrip gift card fundraising back to ASA! See the login info in the CALLS TO ACTION above.
