Recess Volunteers Needed this Winter
As we enter the cold winter months our students continue to go outside for recess. We are in great need of volunteers in January and February. Please contact Marissa Bristow in the office to sign up for available dates. Our goal is to have two volunteer parents to act as crossing guard/lunch supervision on the lunchroom/playground every day to assist the school staff during the entire recess period. Recess will be 11:00 am – 12:35 pm.
All families need to volunteer for recess supervision 2-3 times this year for the safety of the children. (Parents of half-day preschoolers are not required to volunteer as their children do not participate in lunch recess time.) If you find your schedule doesn’t allow you to volunteer for Recess Duty, you may opt out by paying $50. (Separate charge from Volunteer Requirement. Recess hours are applied to the 15-hours/year of volunteering.) These funds are used to defray the cost of additional paid recess staff. At the end of the school year, families will be charged $50 if they haven’t volunteered for recess.
Thank you all for your help and generosity with your time!

Do you know some who enjoys volunteering at school and is 55 or older? Partnering with the Central Minnesota Foster Grandparent Program, we are looking for local adults age 55+ to become part of this exciting intergenerational program. The Foster Grandparent Program offers many benefits to those who participate, including a tax-free hourly reimbursement, transportation reimbursement for mileage or for using a city bus, orientation, on-going training, health benefits and more. Please encourage older adults you know to consider volunteering in our school as a Foster Grandparent.
