Every Thursday school is in session you will be receiving a link to the “Weekly Parent Newsletter”. Please read carefully. This will contain All Saints Academy, St. Cloud news for you and your family.

NEW NEWS
Registration
Registration for the 2017-2018 school year is open to current families. Current families will have priority for registration through Wednesday, March 1st. On March 2nd we will open up registration to new families.

An online registration process on School Speak is offered this year.  All families received information in your child’s Thursday folder last week regarding how current families can register their children.  If you misplaced your copy, it is available under 2017-2018 Registration.

If you are registering a new student, you will need to complete a paper registration form at this time. If you have questions, please contact our office. 

February Conferences Start Tonight
Conferences for the first trimester of school are tonight, Thursday, Feb. 23rd and Tuesday, Feb. 28th from 3:45 pm – 6:30 pm both nights.  (Due to Deep Portage, 6th grade conferences are Feb. 28th & Mar. 2nd.)  If you haven’t signed up for conferences yet, you may do so on School Speak.

Special Conference Instructions:
5/6th grade parents please schedule a conference with your homeroom teacher.  It is not necessary to schedule a conference with each 5th & 6th grade teacher.
Marj Groseth, our Spanish Teacher will be in the Spanish room Thursday, February 23rd.
Mary Goenner, our Music Teacher will be in the music room on Thursday, February 23rd.
Ellen Detra, our Art Teacher will be in the art room Tuesday, February 28th.
Josie Moen, our PhyEd Teacher will be in the gym on Tuesday, February 28th .
Lisa Poganski, our Title 1 Teacher will be in the Title 1 room at the very top of the main stairs as you come into the school on both nights from 4-6pm only.
Mrs. Faye Haws, Barton Tutor will be here both nights of conferences from 4:00 – 7:00 pm.
Kelly Haws, Barton will be here both nights and will be available from 4:00 – 7:00 pm.

Simple Supper @ Conferences
ASA will be offering a Simple Supper both conference nights.  A sign-up sheet for the supper came home last week. If you would like to have dinner at school, please return the completed form to office.

Free Throw Knights of Columbus Contest
ASA would like to congratulate Ben F., 6th grade and Drew L, 4th grade for winning the Knights of Columbus free-throw competition for their age bracket.  Both students will travel to Cold Spring to complete at the regional level.  We wish them good luck.  McKenna B., 3rd grade & Tate B., 6th grade also were eligible to advance but due to scheduling conflicts are unable to attend the regional level competition.

Used Book Fair@ Conferences
Our Parent Activities Committee (PAC) is hosting a Book Fair during conferences, Thursday, Feb. 23rd.  Students will be able to purchase books from 7:15 – 7:45 am & during their lunch time on Thursday and Friday in addition to conference time.  They may bring a small amount of money to purchase books.  Prices are $.25/book.

Host an International Student from Cathedral
Make lifelong connections with families from around the world.  Learn about different cultures.
Cathedral High School is seeking families that are interested in hosting an international student.  We are looking to place one student now (10th-grade girl from Korea) but we will have a greater need for host families in the Fall.

BULLETIN BOARD
·  St. Cloud Youth Lax Registration is now open.  Teams available for kids K – 8th grade.  Team Age Levels 8U, 10U, 12U, and 14U.  Equipment is available at no cost for first year players.  Please visit our Website stcloudyouthlax.com or contact Chris Braun at stcloudyouthlaxinfo@gmail.com or 320-828-1135 for more details.
· The SchoolSpeak iPhone App is now available on Apple App Store (search for SchoolSpeak on App Store.) If you have an iPhone, you can access School Speak content. You will need your login ID as well as your password. The app requires Wi-Fi or mobile data connection to log in. All of your home pages on School Speak will be available. At this time, you cannot update information such as your profile on the iPhone app. That feature is in the future.
· Families can check their fund raising dollars on School Speak at any time. In order to meet our annual budget at ASA we offer opportunities for families to fundraise and meet their goal of $350/student. Please take the time to check how much your family has raised towards your fund raising commitment. This will help you determine how much you need to fund raise for the remainder of the year.
· Family Lunch accounts need to be kept up to date. Families will receive notice if their balance is at or below $-10.00. Your cooperation with this matter is most appreciated.
· Sign Up for REMIND: The St. Cloud Campus would like to invite parents/guardians to sign up for REMIND. REMIND is a safe, free and easy way we can connect with parents through texting. It allows us to communicate with all parents instantly. Signing up is done through a unique code to Mrs. Marissa Bristow. Please text to 612-260-4578 and in the message enter @ef392. It is that easy. You will be added on to the parent list. If you have signed up in the past, it is not necessary to sign up again.
·Keep Collecting! - Continue to save Labels For Learning, Labels for Education (Swansons, Post, and Prego) only the UPC with the point value is accepted, Box Tops for Education, UPC's from Country Hearth and Village Hearth Products as part of the Loaves4Learning Program, pop and can tabs, old cell phones and used ink cartridges. Keep saving!

There will be no school on Friday, February 17th  (CCS In-service) and Monday, February 20th (Presidents’ Day.)  Funzone is available both days.

District 742 is not in session Tuesday, February 21st.  Bussing will be unavailable. 

NEW NEWS
Registration

An online registration process on School Speak is offered this year.  All families are receiving information in your child’s Thursday folder regarding how current families can register their children.  Please look for the packet that has a green sheet on top.  This letter will also be posted under the registration tab on School Speak.

If you are registering a new student, you will need to complete a paper registration form at this time. If you have questions, please contact our office. 

February Conferences
Conferences for the first trimester of school will be held on Thursday, Feb. 23rd and Tuesday, Feb. 28th from 3:45 pm – 6:30 pm both nights.  (Due to Deep Portage, 6th grade conferences are Feb. 28th & Mar. 2nd.) 

Each conference is a 15 minute, scheduled appointment to meet with your child/ren's teacher. Parent(s) is/are required to be in attendance at both fall & winter conferences.  We are using School Speak to sign up and organize our winter conferences.  If you do not know your username/password, please contact Kris Haehn and she will assist you. 

On School Speak:
1. Find your child’s homeroom page on the left side of the screen
2. Click on “Winter Conferences”
3. Choose your conference time & sign up.

Used Book Fair@ Conferences
Our Parent Activities Committee (PAC) is collecting gently used books for the upcoming book sale later this month. Each classroom has donation boxes as well as the office and Fun Zone.

Books can be picture books, chapter books, teen, how-to, crafts, puzzle, cookbooks, children magazines, but please, No "adult novels" or "adult magazines." What a great way to purge your collection and refill it later this month! Thanks!

Host an International Student from Cathedral
