Every Thursday school is in session we will provide this “Weekly Parent Newsletter”. Please read carefully. This will contain All Saints Academy, St. Cloud news for you and your family.

Please note, newly added information for this week will be under New News.   Information that has been previously published will be located under Bulletin Board at the end.

NEW NEWS

1. Grandparents Day Tomorrow, October 2nd – Grandparents’/Special Friend Day Is Friday, October 2nd.  We celebrated with T/Th preschool today and will celebrate again with our M/W/F Preschool also.  We love having our grandparents here!  On Friday for Kindergarten – 6th grade, the day will begin with hospitality.  Refreshments will be served beginning at 12:00 pm in the cafeteria followed by mass at 12:30 pm.  Grandparents may find a seat in church for themselves and their grandchildren.  The students will be coming to church with their teachers.  Students will look for their grandparents. Afterwards, there will be time for classroom activities.  Refer to the invitation in last week’s Thursday’s folder.  We hope your child’s grandparents will be able to join us for this special day.  If children will be going home with grandparents, please return the permission form to school.  This permission is required before we can release the children to go home with grandpa & grandma.

2.  School Attire – As the weather gets cooler, students need to wear long pants and long sleeves if the temperature is 65 degrees or less when they go outside for recess.  If they choose to wear shorts for the day, students are welcome to keep a pair of long pants in their backpacks to wear at recess.  Thank you for helping us keep your children healthy.
3.  Dog Bite Prevention Talks – You will find two flyers in your youngest child’s Thursday folder regarding Dog Bite Prevention.  Marit Ortega, ASA parent and a representative from the Tri-County Humane Society presented information to K/1/2 this week.  Please read over the materials and feel free to talk further with your children.  Ms. Ortega will be visiting the other grade levels over the next two weeks.

4.  Workathon – Families will find information regarding the Workathon in this week’s Thursday folder.  St. Cloud campus is in need of work-sites.  If you know of someone in the neighborhood that needs assistance with raking or other yard work, please complete the forms that were provided last week.  We have received a few recommendations for work-sites, but we still need many more!  The Kick-off will take place Friday, October 2nd in the morning.  Your youngest will bring home a Workathon 2015 “Saints in Service” famiy packet, also.  All donations will be applied towards your $350 fundraising goal/child.  Each child will receive a pledge sheet to track his/her fundraising.  Please turn in money daily.  Send all money to school in a sealed and labeled envelope.  Write your child’s name, homeroom and total amount enclosed on the outside of the envelope.  We will make every effort to provide the prizes on a next day basis.

5.  Spaghetti Dinner October 30th – Invitations will be mailed out for our ASA Spaghetti Dinner soon.  The date is Friday, October 30th with the social beginning at 5:30 pm.  If parents already know they will be attending this adult “friend-raiser” & “fun-raiser,” you are welcome to RSVP now by emailing Marissa Bristow at marissa.bristow@allsaintsmn.org
