Every Thursday school is in session you will be receiving a link to the “Weekly Parent Newsletter”. Please read carefully. This will contain All Saints Academy, St. Cloud news for you and your family.

K-6 Grandparents Day is TOMORROW September 29 th !
Grandparents/Special Friend Day Is Friday, September 29th. We love having our grandparents here! The day will begin with hospitality with refreshments beginning at 12:00 pm in the cafeteria followed by classroom time at 12:30 pm. Grandparents go to the classrooms of their grandchildren for classroom activities. We will have volunteer parents to help you find you locate your grandchild’s homeroom. We will be celebrating mass at 1:30 pm at St. Paul’s Church.
If your children will be going home with grandparents, the school will need the permission slip (half-sheet) with a parent’s signature. We hope your child’s grandparents will be able to join us for this special day.

Preschool Grandparents Day is September 29th!
2-day Preschool – Friday is Grandparents Day from 8 – 11 am. Grandparents are invited to join students in their classroom. We will have refreshments for grandparents during preschool snack. We hope your child’s grandparents can join us!

Cathedral Homecoming 2017
Join us on Friday, October 6th at Husky Stadium for a Tailgate Party before the big game against Holy Family!
Tailgate Party is at 5:00 pm
Game starts at 7:00 pm
Free food from Lily's Wings and Things and beverages as well as games and activities for the kids! This event is open to Alumni, Parents, Students, Family & Friends - we hope to see you there as we get ready to cheer on our favorite football team!

Conferences in October
Conferences for the first trimester of school will be held on Thursday, Oct. 12 th and Monday, Oct. 16 th from 3:45 pm – 7:00 pm both nights . Each conference is a 15 minute, scheduled appointment to meet with your child/ren's homeroom teacher. Parent(s) is/are required to be in attendance at both fall & winter conferences.
We are using School Speak to sign up and organize our fall conferences. If you do not know your username/password, please contact Kris Haehn and she will assist you.
On School Speak:
1. Find your child’s homeroom page on the left side of the screen
2. Click on “Fall Conferences”
3. Choose your conference time & sign up.
Our specialist teachers will also be available for conferences on both nights. You may sign up to have a conference with those teachers as well. Music, Art & Spanish conference sign up is located in the School Group, at the bottom on the left side of the screen.

World Mission Rosary
World Mission Rosary Day will be observed Friday, Oct. 6th at 2:00 pm. Students and staff will be gathering in the church and all are welcome to join us. We will be praying for world peace. Students will  be wearing certain colors that represent the different regions of the Mission Rosary. 1 st & 5th grade will be wearing green for the forests and grasslands of Africa. 6 th grade will be wearing blue for the ocean surrounding the islands of the Pacific. 2nd grade will be wearing  white to symbolize Europe, the home of the Holy Father. 3rd grade will be wearing yellow symbolizing the morning light of the East and “beginning of civilization” for Asia/Middle East. Kindergarten & 4th grade will be wearing red, calling to mind the fire of faith that brought missionaries to the Americas.
Gather your rosary and join us in this special prayer devotion to Mary.

Workathon 2017 – Save the Date: October 28 th
Families will find information regarding the Workathon in next week’s Thursday folder. We will be having a kick-off with the students in October. Look for more information about the Workathon in future weeks.

PAC UPDATE
PAC has been busy getting ready for the annual Halloween carnival! Please stay tuned for volunteer opportunities and feel free to start sending in two bags of nut- free candy per family. We thank you for your donation; the kids just love this event!
PAC also has provided monthly treats for the teachers and staff and is working to line up motivational and anti-bullying speakers for students - and maybe parents too.
Feel free to join us! Our next meeting is October 4th, 6pm at the Waite Park school building. We'll be planning for the Halloween carnival.

5/6 Knowledge Bowl
SC Campus would like to invite 5 th and 6 th graders to be part of our Knowledge Bowl team. Knowledge Bowl (KB) is an academic competition that promotes academic achievement and rewards academic excellence. KB promotes academics and helps develop leadership skills in a fun environment. Paperwork was sent home last week in Thursday folders. If you have more questions about KB, please contact Mrs. Mary Cheryl Opatz, 6 thgrade teacher, marycheryl.opatz@allsaintsmn.org or our parent coach, Tara Voumard at wata9901@yahoo.com.  If you are interested in volunteering/driving for Knowledge Bowl, please let Mrs. Opatz know.

After-School Pick Up Procedures for Parents
Thank you to all our parents for helping to implement our new After-School pick-up procedures. It has helped the traffic in our hallways immensely. Just a reminder…
1. K – 6 th without Preschool siblings – parents may meet their children in back of school. You may join the line of cars or park your car in the lot across 12 th Ave. N. and wait near the doors.
2. K – 6 th with Preschool siblings – parents may meet their preschooler and their K-6 th children by the preschool rooms.

ArtSmart
Ms. Detra’s ArtSmart sessions will be starting in October after school.
1 st /2 nd Grade: (Mondays) October 9 th , 16 th , 23 rd & 30 th
3 rd /4 th Grade (Tuesdays) October 10 th , 17 th , 24 th & 31 st
There is space available if your child would like to attend.

Crayons for Cancer
6 th grade is collecting old, used, broken crayons between now and the end of the school year for Crayons for Cancer. Please add any donations to the bucket outside of the 6-2 classroom on our 2 nd floor until November 15th.

Preschool Morning Drop Off
Preschool opens at 7:30 am and closes at 3 pm . FunZone is available after school if your child needs aftercare. Please contact FunZone for availability if you are not already registered. There is no before school care for Preschool, but please notify the office if you need to drop off earlier on occasion. There are special instructions for these rare occasions, and we do need to know in advance.

Bulletin Board
4-H volunteers will be offering a Livestock Project Day that is open to all. It will be Sat., Oct. 7 th from 10 am – noon at Holy Family School in Albany. Volunteers will offer basic information on how to start livestock projects. Pre-registraiton is encouraged but not required. The registration link is http://z.umn.edu/lpd17 . Octoberfest at St. Joseph’s Church, Waite Park will be held on Sat., Sept. 30 th from noon – close. There will be games, silent auction, pull tabs and a raffle. Mass will be a 4 pm. A German Dinner will be served from 4:30 – 7:30 pm, $10/plate. There will be burgers & brats available throughout the day. A cash raffle drawing will occur at 7 pm, raffle tickets are $10/chance.

St Cloud Youth Hockey , come join the FUN on the ICE! Registration is open for players of all skill level. Players do not need to know how to skate to start hockey, they will learn with our practice plans and coaches. Equipment rental is available making starting hockey very affordable! Questions? Please remember that we are a Nut-free building . All snacks and lunches need to be peanut-free and nut-free. There is a safe-snack list on School Speak under Announcements. NOTE: Since ingredients change this list may be updated from time to time – we ask that parents check this list before purchasing snacks throughout the year.
Did you know? Childhood allergic reactions are most likely to happen at school and 50% of reactions were previously unknown to the parents or child.
