All Saints Academy, St. Cloud Campus
Weekly
Parent Newsletter
September 3, 2015
Every Thursday school
is in session we will provide this “Weekly Parent Newsletter”. Please read
carefully. This will contain All Saints Academy, St. Cloud news for you and
your family.
Please note,
newly added information for this week will be under New News. Information that has been previously
published will be located under Bulletin Board at the end.
NEW
NEWS
1. After-School
Pick Up Procedures:
If your child/ren are being picked up by you, you may pick them in back of
the school on 12th Ave. N.
Please join the cars as they line up, enter the back parking lot and
follow the queue as students are loaded into appropriate vehicles next to the
building. All students will enter
vehicles on the passenger side. Please
exit the parking lot by following the flow of traffic. Teachers are available to help make this a
smooth process. If you plan on getting
out of your car to meet your child, please park in the parking lot across 12th
Ave N.
2. Dress Code – To wear or not to
wear…..If you have questions regarding the dress code, please refer to the
Dress Code section in the Parent Handbook which is located on the school
website (allsaintsmn.org). Some standards include (not all): Shorts & skirts must be mid-thigh or longer;
clothing must have sleeves; no tank
tops/dresses, muscle shirts or spaghetti straps; no clothing with tears or
holes; tight/form fitting clothing is not allowed; all shoes need to have a back
on them. We realize that the weather has
been very warm and parents need to make appropriate judgment calls as to what
their children wear to school. Reasonable
attempts will be made to communicate with parents/guardians with a phone call
or a cover garment will be provided for the student if necessary. The remedy will be chosen at the discretion
of the principal. If you have
questions/concerns please contact Amanda Gjerde, 251-5295 or
amanda.gjerde@allsaintsmn.org.
3. St. Peter's Sunday School - St. Peter's has a Sunday School
program for children ages 3-first grade. It is held during the 10:30 mass
from October 4th-April 24th pretty much meeting every Sunday that school is in
session. Parents drop of their children and attend mass while the children
learn about the gospel for that Sunday or about other Catholic teachings.
The children sing songs, learn the lesson, say prayers, make friends,
and do a craft that they take home to reinforce the lesson. After
mass parents come get their children from their classroom. This is an
AWESOME way for your preschooler, kindergartener, and/or first grader to learn
about their church while you are able to focus on the mass and pray. You
do not need to be a member of St. Peter's or St. Paul's to bring you child(ren)
to Sunday School; you just need to want them to learn about how WONDERFUL their
God is!
Registration
forms can be found at: http://media.wix.com/ugd/1cbc2f_a06f7a6163a4488c97114cac69793960.pdf
or found on the St. Peter/St. Paul website under faith formation registration
forms and schedules. Because we do projects that have supplies, I need to
know a relatively accurate number of students so I can ensure I have enough
supplies. I hope many of you can join us. Any questions please feel free to email me at Meaghan.baynes@gmail.com
4. Birthday Treats – If
your child will be sharing a birthday treat with his/her class this year please
remember to send nut-safe treats. We
encourage you to be health conscious when sending these treats to school. Some
healthy snack ideas include grain products (crackers, pretzels, cereal bars), fruit,
vegetables, milk products (cheese, yogurt, pudding) or meat/protein (sunflower
seeds and cold cuts). If you have questions regarding allergies of students in
your child’s class, please contact the teacher or Mrs. Gjerde.
5. School Counselor – Wednesday,
the ASA St. Cloud campus students and staff met Mrs. Emily Larsen today, our
school counselor. Mrs Larsen’s primary
responsibility will be to promote the academic, personal and social development
of all students. She will be helping
children build skills, provide resources and support and to make referrals to
other area professionals as needed. Your
child’s teacher or a school staff member may refer your child to school
counseling services. You as a parent
will be included in the referral process.
Parents are welcome to refer their own child to for school counseling at
any time during the school year. We look
forward to having Mrs. Larsen be a resource for everyone in our school
community.
6. Playground Fundraiser Breakfast – On Sunday, September 13th, The Knights of Columbus will
be hosting a breakfast at St. Peter’s Church. The cost is $7/adult, 5 and
under are free. All proceeds will
go towards continuing to pay for the new St. Cloud playground addition! We will be asking St. Cloud parents/families
to take a role in working this breakfast and selling tickets.
Volunteers are needed to
work the breakfast. If you are new to the All Saints Academy family,
this is a good time to meet people by working the breakfast. All
hours at the breakfast can go towards your family’s 15 volunteer hours/year.
7. Playground Duty – Week of Sept. 1st – 3rd (Please

Share Your Gifts at All Saints Academy –
Volunteering at school is a wonderful opportunity to give back and share your
gifts. Volunteering at school also allows you to see your children and
other children in the school setting. We are requesting that each family volunteer 15 hours/year at school.
(Recess volunteers are our greatest need
and counts towards your 15 hours.) If
your day/year does not allow you to volunteer, we ask that you pay $50 per
family (general volunteering)

Parent Meetings - All Parent grade-level meetings will be held Tuesday,

cafeteria for a short school-wide presentation at 6:00 pm. Grade
level teachers will be making their presentation twice during the evening in
homerooms at 6:30 & again at 7:00 pm. This will give you an
opportunity to hear all the specifics for each grade level that
evening. More information about the evening will be in next week’s
parent newsletter.
