Every Thursday school is in session we will provide this “Weekly Parent Newsletter”. Please read carefully. This will contain All Saints Academy, St. Cloud news for you and your family.

Please note, newly added information for this week will be under New News.   Information that has been previously published will be located under Bulletin Board at the end.

PICTURE DAY IS THIS MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 14TH!  PLEASE LOOK FOR THE PHOTO ENVELOPE IN THIS THURSDAY’S FOLDER.  (T/TH preschoolers picture day is October 20th.)
NEW NEWS

1. Playground Fundraiser Breakfast – On Sunday, September 13thThe Knights of Columbus will be hosting a breakfast at St. Peter’s Church.  Please remember to turn in money from sold tickets as well as all unsold tickets.  We need to track this so that we may apply it towards your fundraising quota.
         We need many volunteers to make this a success!  All volunteer hours will be applied to your Volunteer Requirement of 15 hours.  We will be using Volunteer Spot for signing up to help.  Click this link http://vols.pt/NRPcxX.  Review all options available and sign up.  There are openings still available!  It’s that easy!

2.  Parent Meetings - All Parent grade-level meetings will be this coming Tuesday, September 15th.  These meetings will give parents an opportunity to meet their child’s teacher again prior to conferences and hear specifics for each grade.  The evening will begin at 6:00 pm in the cafeteria for a brief overall school meeting.  Parents will then proceed to grade-level meetings in the classrooms. Grade level teachers will be making the same presentation twice during the evening in classrooms at 6:30 & again at 7:00 pm. Teachers will answer questions you have about school. We hope you are able to attend.

3.  PAA/Fan Appreciation Night – Cathedral Girls Volleyball will be hosting PAA/Fan Appreciation Night on Thursday, September 10th.  Cathedral will be playing Albany.  Invitations went home earlier this week.  Games begin at 5:00 pm.  Students wearing blue & gold or their PAA sports jersey will get in free.  There will be door prizes and a serving competition. 

4.  Cub Scouts – Cub Scout Pack 106 is having its Fall Organizational Meeting this Thursday at 6pm.  They will meet in the gym at St. Peter’s Church, and all boys (grades 1 through 4) are welcome – PARTICULARLY the First Graders!  Please come check out the adventures we’re planning for this year, or contact Tom St. Hilaire (thomas.sthilaire@aya.yale.edu) with questions

5. September Lunch Menu Change – The September 18th lunch menu has changed to Cheese Pizza.  The original main entrĂ©e was Max Snax.  All other days in September will remain the same.

6.  Lost & Found – All lost and found items will be placed on the Lost & Found table, found in the basement of the school.  Items found during lunch, recess or during the day will be brought to the table.  Please have your child check the table periodically.

7.  Pumpkinfest - Pumpkinfest is a free event offered by the City of St. Cloud Park and Recreation Department.  We encourage families with kids 12 years of age or younger to come out and participate in trick or treat stations, a petting zoo, pumpkin patch fun, hayrides and so much more. Monsters University will be featured on our outdoor movie screen starting at dusk.  Families are encouraged to bring a lawn chair or a blanket to sit on while the film plays. Fun is lurking around every corner during this safe, family friendly event! We hope you are able to join us at the Lake George and Eastman Park for the sixth annual spooktacular celebration of Pumpkinfest, on Friday, October 16 from 4-7pm. Playground Duty – Week of Sept. 14th – 18th   (Please contact Kris Haehn, 251-5295, to schedule yourself for recess duty.  All families are required to volunteer for 2 days or they may opt out by paying $50/family.)

Bulletin Board
·      School Counselor – Last week, the ASA St. Cloud campus students and staff met Mrs. Emily Larsen last week, our school counselor.  Mrs Larsen’s primary responsibility will be to promote the academic, personal and social development of all students.  She will be helping children build skills, provide resources and support and to make referrals to other area professionals as needed.  Your child’s teacher or a school staff member may refer your child to school counseling services.  You as a parent will be included in the referral process.  Parents are welcome to refer their own child to for school counseling at any time during the school year.  We look forward to having Mrs. Larsen be a resource for everyone in our school community.
·      Dress Code –If you have questions regarding the dress code, please refer to the Dress Code section in the Parent Handbook which is located on the school website (allsaintsmn.org). Some standards include (not all):  Shorts & skirts must be mid-thigh or longer; clothing must have sleeves;  no tank tops/dresses, muscle shirts or spaghetti straps; no clothing with tears or holes; tight/form fitting clothing is not allowed; all shoes need to have a back on them. Reasonable attempts will be made to communicate with parents/guardians with a phone call or a cover garment will be provided for the student if necessary.  The remedy will be chosen at the discretion of the principal.  If you have questions/concerns please contact Amanda Gjerde, 251-5295 or amanda.gjerde@allsaintsmn.org.
·      Birthday Treats – If your child will be sharing a birthday treat with his/her class this year please remember to send nut-safe treats.  We encourage you to be health conscious when sending these treats to school. Some healthy snack ideas include grain products (crackers, pretzels, cereal bars), fruit, vegetables, milk products (cheese, yogurt, pudding) or meat/protein (sunflower seeds and cold cuts). If you have questions regarding allergies of students in your child’s class, please contact the teacher or Mrs. Gjerde.
·      After-School Pick Up Procedures:  If your child/ren are being picked up by you, you may pick them in back of the school on 12th Ave. N.  Please join the cars as they line up, enter the back parking lot and follow the queue as students are loaded into appropriate vehicles. If you plan on getting out of your car to meet your child, please park in the parking lot across 12th Ave N. 
·      St. Peter's Sunday School - St. Peter's has a Sunday School program for children ages 3-first grade.  It is held during the 10:30 mass from October 4th-April 24th almost every Sunday that ASA is in session.  Drop off your children and attend mass while they learn about the gospel or other Catholic teachings.  Children sing songs, say prayers, make friends, and do a craft to reinforce the lesson.  After mass parents pick up children in their classroom. ·      Spiritwear  - All Saints Academy has new spiritwear!  We have some new items that were displayed during Paperwork Night.  There are new youth hooded sweatshirts as well!  Visit Marissa Bristow in the office and she would be happy to show you sizes and styles.
·      School Speak – ASA has implemented School Speak, a new online school management system.  It is a secure portal that allows us to store information and communicate with our families. Many of you have received the introductory email to log in to School Speak.  If you haven’t, please contact the office, 251-5295, so that we can provide the information for you.  We would like all parents to log in and update their profile.  This technology will allow us to provide more information, communicate with parents and offer useful tools for everyone who is a member of our school community.
·      Share Your Gifts at All Saints Academy – Volunteering at school is a wonderful opportunity to give back and share your gifts.  Volunteering at school also allows you to see your children and other children in the school setting.  We are requesting that each family volunteer 15 hours/year at school.  (Recess volunteers are our greatest need and counts towards your 15 hours.)  If your day/year does not allow you to volunteer, we ask that you pay $50 per family (general volunteering)
·      Sign Up for REMIND: The St. Cloud Campus would like to invite parents/guardians to sign up for REMIND. REMIND is a safe, free and easy way we can connect with parents through texting. It allows us to communicate with all parents instantly. Signing up is done through a unique code to Mrs. Marissa Bristow. Please text to 612-260-4578 and in the message section enter @ef392. It is that easy. You will be added on to the parent list.  If you have signed up in the past, it is not necessary to sign up again.
·      Keep Collecting! - Continue to save Labels For Learning, Labels for Education (Campbell's. Swansons, Post, and Prego) only the UPC with the point value is accepted, Box Tops for Education, UPC's from Country Hearth and Village Hearth Products as part of the Loaves4Learning Program, pop and can tabs, old cell phones and used ink cartridges.
