3.  Open House – ASA is having an Open House for prospective parents with children for Preschool – 6th grade on Thursday, Jan. 28th  from 4:00 – 7:00 pm.  Pass the word onto friends or coworkers that would benefit from attending All Saints Academy.  They will be able to spend time, tour our St. Cloud campus, and experience the love and caring displayed by our teachers every day.  Our environment allows child/ren to develop individually and have success academically, spiritually and socially.  Our school community provides an active, supportive and caring environment for peers, teachers, staff and parents.  There will be tours available that evening.   Our Funzone childcare will also be available if you have questions regarding our after-school care program.  Preschool & Kindergarten will have presentations by teachers every hour beginning at 4:00, 5:00 & 6:00 pm.   Our 1st - 6th grade teachers will also be available to visit and answer questions.  Come have a tour and see what All Saints Academy has to offer.  Invite your friends!  If you have questions, please contact us at 251-5295.  You may also contact our Principal, Mrs. Gjerde, Amanda.gjerde@allsaintsmn.org or her assistant, Mrs. Bristow, marissa.bristow@allsaintsmn.org.  We will be having additional open houses during the months of February & March.

4.  Outdoor Winter Clothing – Now that winter has truly descended upon Minnesota, we want to remind parents to make sure your children bring the appropriate clothing for outdoor recess.  The students will be going out most days for recess.  Snow pants, boots, winter coat, and hat/mittens are necessary items.

5.  St. Peter's Dinner Theater Auditions!!! - Do you have the acting bug?  Do you want to be on stage?  St. Peter's Art and Soul Committee is putting on a dinner theater again, the production this year is OLIVER!  For those of you who have seen Oliver (and if you haven't, I HIGHLY recommend it!) you know that it requires MANY children; there are a TON of roles for children, and up to 7 songs that they will be involved in.  There are also many adult roles, so families could be involved together; it is a WONDERFUL way to spend quality time together. The commitment would be two rehearsals a week (one on Sunday and one on a weekday evening) with the number increasing as the performance nears. There are both male and female adult roles and both girl and boy roles and no experience is necessary! The Performances are April 14th(no dinner), 15th(dinner), and 16th(dinner).  Auditions are Monday Feb 8th at St. Peter's from 6:30-8:30. You do now have to be a member of St. Peter's or Paul's to take part, our previous productions have had actors/actresses from many other parishes (and some who weren't members anywhere). If you can't make that audition time but are still interested please email Joyce Baumann at baumannjteacher@yahoo.com to make alternative arrangements.
This is a GREAT way to support one of the partnering parishes of ASA so even if you can't be involved in the productions, make sure to mark your calendar to attend!

6.  Willow Sweeney Speaking Event - Homework….Carpools…Packing Cold Lunches….being a parent is one of the toughest, yet most rewarding parts of our lives!  It’s time to take a break and attend an event that you will NOT WANT TO MISS!
And…it’s FREE!
Please mark your calendar, find a babysitter and join us for Top 20 Training with Willow Sweeney on February 8th and February 22nd at 6:30 p.m. at the Paramount Theaters. Willow Sweeney is the co-founder of Top 20 Training. She as co-authored several books, including Top 20 Parents: Raising Happy, Responsible and Emotionally Healthy Children.  She is the most recent recipient of the St. Cloud Times 5 Under 40 recognition.  Ticket info will be coming home next week in Thursday folders.

7.  Catholic Community School (CCS) News – HOW WILL THIS AFFECT SCHOOL BUILDINGS AND STAFFING?
• It’s too early to know the answer. But closing school buildings is not the hope or goal of this process. The goal is to fill classrooms and revitalize Catholic education. • There is no intent to change the individual cultures of schools. Each school site will maintain its culture. Each school will maintain its own site advisory council.
Mission statement for Catholic Community Schools
“The mission of Catholic Community Schools is to strengthen the Catholic Church and society by educating her people at an unparalleled level of excellence while teaching, sharing, and living the Gospel message of Jesus Christ.”

·      Family Lunch Accounts - Family Lunch accounts need to be kept up to date. Notices are in Thursday folders this week if you owe $10 or more. If the balance owed is more than $30.00, students will receive a sandwich and milk during lunch until payment is received beginning Monday, October 26th. According to Federal Policy from the Department of Agriculture, “Schools may deny a meal to a student who pays reduced or full price and who does not provide the required payment for the meal.”  Your cooperation with this matter is most appreciated.
·      Safe Environment Training – Many of you have completed the required paperwork needed for background checks.  Part of the process is completing the Safe Environment Training that is found online.  If you are volunteering at the school, it is required that you complete this training every year. Thank you to those of you who have completed the online training.  Please go to http://stcdio.org/safeenvironmentinstructions/ to complete the training.  The video is approximately 11 minutes long.   Make sure to answer the questions and click “Submit.”
·      School Speak – ASA has implemented School Speak, a new online school management system.  It is a secure portal that allows us to store information and communicate with our families. Many of you have received the introductory email to log in to School Speak.  If you haven’t, please contact the office, 251-5295, so that we can provide the information for you.  We would like all parents to log in and update their profile.  This technology will allow us to provide more information, communicate with parents and offer useful tools for everyone who is a member of our school community.
·      Sign Up for REMIND: The St. Cloud Campus would like to invite parents/guardians to sign up for REMIND. REMIND is a safe, free and easy way we can connect with parents through texting. It allows us to communicate with all parents instantly. Signing up is done through a unique code to Mrs. Marissa Bristow. Please text to 612-260-4578 and in the message section enter @ef392. It is that easy. You will be added on to the parent list.  If you have signed up in the past, it is not necessary to sign up again.
