Every Thursday school is in session you will be receiving a link to the “Weekly Parent Newsletter”. Please read carefully. This will contain All Saints Academy, St. Cloud news for you and your family.

Please note: newly added information for this week will be highlighted for the ease of reading and accessing information.

We welcome Andrea Kuechle, who has begun taking over the Funzone director position. Mrs. Kuechle is a newlywed and comes to us with a diverse background in childcare and after-school programming. Feel free to stop in the Funzone room and introduce yourself.

Ms. Anna Barzey-Robinson will be resigning as Funzone director at the end of August. We want to express our gratitude to Ms. Barzey-Robinson for her time and effort in developing our Funzone program over the past 3 years. We wish her the best in her future endeavors.

In addition, we welcome Sandra Warzecka as our new 3^rd grade teacher. Many of you may know Mrs. Warzecka as a substitute teacher at the Waite Park Campus. Prior to coming to ASA, she was a Title 1 Reading Teacher in Sartell. She has also been a homeroom teacher for 2^nd grade & 5^th grade. She is excited to join the St. Cloud Campus and is looking forward to getting to know her students.

Finally, we would like to say good-bye to Mrs. Anne Marie Kimble. Mrs. Kimble has accepted a teaching position in the Sartell school district. All Saints Academy/Sts. Peter, Paul & Michael School thanks Mrs. Kimble for her service at 6th grade and as a middle school teacher. Again, we wish her the best.

1. Paperwork Night/Ice Cream Social and New Family Meeting Set for Tuesday, Aug. 11th - Paperwork night will be held Tuesday, August 11th from 4:00 – 6:30 pm at the St. Cloud Campus. This will be the time that you pick up all paperwork and can meet with support staff to pay fees. You will also have the opportunity to put money in your child’s hot lunch account to start the new school year. We will have homerooms posted at that time. Parish faith formation will have representation at this event if you still need to sign up for Wednesday evening Faith Formation classes. We will have a cold treat for you and your family if you would like to stay and socialize. The New Family Meeting will be the same night as Paper Work Night. This will be held at 5:30 pm. We look forward to meeting all new families this evening.

2. Open House will be Monday, August 24th - Open House is scheduled at the St. Cloud Campus for Monday, Aug. 24th from 4:30 - 6:00 pm. Plan to meet your child’s teacher, renew old friendships, make new acquaintances and check out our shiny clean building. If you missed picking up paperwork on the 11^th, it will be available in your youngest child’s homeroom.

2. Start Dates 2015-2016 - The 2015-2016 school year will begin Wednesday, August 26, 2015 and end on Friday, June 3, 2016. As in the past, we ask that parents provide transportation for their children to and from school during this first week of school. Please be aware that these dates differ

with the dates of District #742. On September 25th & November 23^rd – 25^th Dist. 742 will not be in session, All Saints Academy will be holding class. All Saints Academy’s Christmas Vacation will run December 21, 2015 – January 1, 2016. If you have questions, please contact Amanda Gjerde at 251-5295

5. Fall PAA Activities - Attached to this email you will find the 5th and 6th grade fall sports information for 2015-2016. These registrations should be returned at Paperwork Night or Open House. Students have the option of playing volleyball, soccer or football in the fall. If you misplace your registration form, it is also available on the website. There will be a fall sports meeting the night of Open House, Aug. 25th from 6:00 - 6:15 pm in the building cafeteria. If your child will be playing football, we will be handing out the football equipment after the meeting as well. Any further questions, please contact (PAA athletic director) at.

3. 2015-2016 Playground Supervision Program – Our goal is to have two parents who have children in K – 6^th grade, on the playground everyday to assist the school staff with during the entire recess period. The time commitment for parents will be one hour, beginning at 11:20 am. There will be a form in your packet at Paper Work Night that will need to be completed. A schedule will be created and all families will be placed in the rotation. All families need to volunteer for recess supervision 2 times this year for the safely of the children. Or you may pay a fee of $40 upfront instead of supervising.

Our talents and skills are meant to be cultivated and shared with others. Sharing our God-given gifts by actively participating in the life of our parish and school is an expression of stewardship. “As each one of us has received a gift, use it to serve one another as good stewards of God’s varied grace,” 1 Peter 4:10. Volunteering at school is a wonderful opportunity to give back and share your gifts. Volunteering at school also allows you to see your children and other children in the school setting. We are requesting that each family volunteer 15 hours/year at school. This can include but not limited to the following: lunchroom supervision, serving lunch, recess, classroom assistance, Picture Day, playing a musical instrument at mass, copying, Thursday folders, Spring Picnic, Extravaganza planning, etc. (If your day/year does not allow you to volunteer, we ask that you pay $50 per family. Hours are tracked in our office.) We will have sign- up calendars available during Paper Work Night and Open House to sign up for lunchroom supervision & recess specifically.

5. Sign Up for REMIND: The St. Cloud Campus would like to invite parents/guardians to sign up for REMIND. REMIND is a safe, free and easy way we can connect with parents through texting. It allows us to communicate with all parents instantly. Signing up is done through a unique code to Mrs. Marissa Bristow. Please text to 612-260-4578 and in the message enter @ef392. It is that easy. You will be added on to the parent list. If you have signed up in the past, it is not necessary to sign up again.

4. Keep Collecting! - Continue to save Labels For Learning, Labels for Education (Campbell's. Swansons, Post, and Prego) only the UPC with the point value is accepted, Box Tops for Education, UPC's from Country Hearth and Village Hearth Products as part of the Loaves4Learning Program, pop and can tabs, old cell phones and used ink cartridges.

8. Bulletin Board

The faculty and staff at All Saints Academy would like to wish you and your family a fun and safe summer vacation!

1. Library Books Are Now Over-Due – Please return all student library books as soon as possible and/or pay for lost items.

2. Lunch Accounts – If you are unsure of how much is in your child’s lunch account or if you awe money, please contact Kris Haehn in the office. You may add money to your child/ren’s account anytime by sending a check or cash to the office and indicate which child’s account the money should be credited. Currently, we have several accounts that have a negative balance. If your child has more than one month of unpaid lunches (-$48.00,) the school will be unable to provide a full hot lunch to the student. (The student may receive a sandwich and milk from school.) Please contact the office if you need to make payment arrangements as soon as possible if you have a negative balance. Once payment arrangements are in place, the school will be able to offer hot lunch.

As the year draws to a close, please work on having a zero balance in your family’s lunch account by the last day of school. If you have money in the account yet at the end of the year, the amount will applied to next year’s lunches.

3. Come Celebrate the End of the School Year with Cub Scouts – K-3 Grades please join us for our Annual Picnic TONIGHT, May 28 at 5:45pm, located at St. Peter’s Gym – or outside if weather permits. Parents are welcome and encouraged. This is a great opportunity to learn more about Scouts, get involved in our summer activities, and sign up for next fall.

4. Tutoring Available This Summer - Lisa Poganski, Title 1 teacher for ASA will be tutoring students this summer at the SC campus. She will tutor math and reading classes or a combination of both. Cost will be $20/week in June. The days tutoring will occur will depend on the students’ summer schedules. If you are interested, please give her a call at 320-247-2145.

5. Keep Collecting! - $2,200.38 will be received from Labels for Learning points from Cash Wise and Coborn's. Keep saving the points. THEY DO NOT EXPIRE.

7. Vacation Bible School - Mark Your Calendars!!!! Vacation Bible School at St. Peter's, St. Paul's and Atonement will be June 15th-June18th. Register this week FREE for the BEST VBS in the city! Next week the price goes to $5.00/child so save some money and do it before next Monday. Open to all children ages 3 through grades 6 and if your older children want to help there are a TON of volunteer opportunities! The theme this year is "EVEREST; conquering challenges with God's mighty power"! Watch for more info and registration forms as we get closer to the end of the year!

8. St. Peters Theater Camp - Mark your Calendars!!! We will be hosting a theater camp at St. Peter's again this summer for students who have finished Kindergarten (must be able to read at least a bit) through 12th grade. It will be the week of August 3-7 with performances in the evening on Friday August 7th and in the afternoon on Sunday August 9th. Watch for information in the bulletins and on the parish website, registration forms will be coming out in June. This is a HUGE barging compared to GREAT weeks; only $40/week with a $100 family max. Camp is 8:30-3:30 Monday-Friday. If you have any questions before the registration forms come out please email me; Meaghan.baynes@gmail.com and I will try to answer them.

9. Bulletin Board

• FunZone Summer Care begins June 1st. If you have already registered, please do so at your earliest convenience to guarantee a spot for your child(ren). Please note: If you paid the FunZone registration fee any time during this school year you do not need to pay it again until fall registration. • Parents - Are you looking for an opportunity to keep your kids occupied and still learning over the summer? Here are some other great educational options. All of these day camps are held by Ms. Michaela Roske at St. Katharine Drexel School; but they are open to any students/families in the St. Cloud area Catholic Schools. Ms. Roske has been teaching Spanish for nine years at SKD (seven of which were also at ASA); and working with the Knowledge Bowl and U.S. Academic Triathlon programs for over 5 years. Please check out these fun summer opportunities for your child(ren). Feel free to e-mail Ms. Roske with any questions! (mroske@ourcatholicschool.org) or grab a flyer from the school office.

• The College of Saint Benedict is hosting a basketball clinic for grades 6-8 starting June 14. If interested please stop by the office for a flyer or register online at www.blazersportscamps.com.

• Camp Invention registration is now open for 1^st thru 6^th grade. Please stop by the school office for a flyer or go to www.campinvention.org for more information.

1. Family Picnic – Your entire family is invited to the 2015 Family Picnic TODAY, May 21 from 5:00 pm – 7:30 pm. This includes a meal, inflatables, games and activities. RSVP’s were due May 8^th, if you still would like to attend please contact the office asap.

5. Lunch Schedule – Recess is after lunch now. Please note that the times for Kindergarten and 2nd grade have switched. The times below are correct. The lunch schedule is as follows:

• 11:00 – 5^th grade

• 11:05 – 6^th grade

• 11:10 – 4^TH grade

• 11:20 – 1^st grade

• 11:25 – 2^nd grade

• 11:30 – Kindergarten

• 11:35 - 3^rd grade

*Please note that parents volunteering for recess should check-in at the office and then meet with Mary O’Hara in the lunchroom at 11:15am. Recess ends at 12:15pm.

6. Retirement Party for Bonnie Kutzera – There will be a Retirement Gathering for Bonnie Kutzera for all who have been blessed to have Bonnie as their teacher through the years. Come and go as you like starting at 5:30pm on Tuesday, May 26 at Grizzly’s in Waite Park. Come wish Bonnie well on her retirement!

7. Congratulations to the 5^th and 6^th grade All Saints Academy Saint Cloud Campus softball players for finishing their season 5-0!

• Birthday Treats – If your child will be sharing a birthday treat with his/her class this year, we encourage you to be health conscious and peanut/tree nut safe when sending these treats to school. Some healthy snack ideas include grain products (crackers, pretzels, cereal bars), fruit, vegetables, milk products (cheese, yogurt, pudding) or meat/protein (sunflower seeds and cold cuts). If you have questions regarding allergies of students in your child’s class, please contact the teacher or Mrs. Gjerde.

11. Recess Volunteers – We are greatly in need of parent volunteers. Please contact the office to let us know when you will be available. Three parents are needed each day.
