Every Thursday school is in session you will be receiving a link to the “Weekly Parent Newsletter”. Please read carefully. This will contain All Saints Academy, St. Cloud news for you and your family.

ASA will not have a parent newsletter next week.  We hope you have a relaxing and safe Thanksgiving weekend.

Spaghetti Dinner, November 19th
We are hosting our annual Spaghetti Dinner this Saturday!  Help us celebrate All Saints Academy!  Please RSVP so we have enough for everyone.  This is a free and adult event.
Time:  5:30 pm Social begins; 6:30 Dinner
Location:  SC Campus gym/cafeteria

Catholic Community Schools Update
Catholic Community Schools continues to take shape, looking forward to its inaugural school year beginning in July 2017. These news briefs will keep you abreast to recent developments and responses to inquiries.
What schools are a part of Catholic Community Schools?
St. Francis Xavier (Sartell), All Saints Academy (St. Joseph and St. Cloud), St. Elizabeth Ann Seton (St. Cloud), St. Mary Help of Christians (St. Augusta), St. Wendelin (Luxemberg), Holy Cross (Marty), St. Katharine Drexel School (Sauk Rapids/St. Cloud) and Cathedral High School (St. Cloud).
Conferences in November
Conferences for the first trimester of school are TODAY, Thursday, Nov. 17th and Tuesday, Nov. 22nd from 3:45 pm – 6:30 pm both nights.  Each conference is a 15 minute, scheduled appointment to meet with your child/ren's teacher. Parent(s) is/are required to be in attendance at both fall & winter conferences.  We are using School Speak to sign up and organize our fall conferences.  If you do not know your username/password, please contact Kris Haehn and she will assist you.  On School Speak:
1. Find your child’s homeroom page on the left side of the screen
2. Click on “Fall Conferences”
3. Choose your conference time & sign up.
5/6th grade parents please schedule a conference with your homeroom teacher.  It is not necessary to schedule a conference with each 5th & 6th grade teacher.
Marj Groseth, our Spanish Teacher will be in the Spanish room Tuesday, Nov. 22nd.
Mary Goenner, our Music Teacher will be in the music room on Thursday, Nov. 17th.
Ellen Detra, our Art Teacher will be in the art room on Tuesday, Nov. 22nd.
Josie Moen, our PhyEd Teacher will be in the gym on Tuesday, Nov. 22nd.
Lisa Poganski, our Title 1 Teacher will be in the Title 1 room at the very top of the main stairs as you come into the school on both nights from 4-6pm only.
Mrs. Faye Haws, Barton Tutor will be here both nights of conferences.
Kelly Haws, Barton will be here both nights and will be available from 4:00 – 6:30 pm.
St. Peter’s Turkey Bingo
St. Peter’s Turkey Bingo will be held Friday, November 18th.  Dinner will be at 5:30 pm, a brat, chips & cookie for $2.50.  Bingo begins at 6:00 pm.  $.25/game per person.  There will be special family pricing!  Lots of prizes for adults and children.  Donations of turkeys & pies are needed.

Joseph & The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat Auditions
St. Peter’s Art & Soul Group’s Dinner Theater will be holding auditions for Joseph & The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat on Sunday, December 4th from 4 – 6pm and Monday, December 5th from 6:30 – 8:30 pm at St. Peter’s choir room.  Please email Tom Siekkinen, Director at bunnyskip@charter.net or Joyce Baumann, Music Liturgy & Choir Director, baumannjteacher@yahoo.com for more information.

No Parking in Front of School
When dropping off children or stopping at school during school time, please remember that parking is not allowed in front of the school during school hours.  (Funzone pick up is after school hours.) This space is reserved for bus drop off and pick up during the day.  Please park on the far side of the street if you plan on getting out of your car. 

Cathedral Poinsettia Sale
The Cathedral Nordic Ski Team is having their annual Poinsettia Sale.  This is a fund raiser for their team.  Red, white, pink, marble plants are $15/each.  Ellie’s Blue Sparkles poinsettias are $20/plant.  Ellie’s Army students come to our campus every Wednesday and visit with our students.  If you are interested in purchasing any of them, please contact Sue Sovada @ rsonpark@gmail.com.  All orders and payments are needed by Monday, November 21st.  Delivery will be Wednesday, November 30th.

Cold Weather Clothing
Now that winter-like weather has descended upon us, please send outdoor winter clothing with your child/ren to school.  All students will continue to go outside for recess through the winter months.  Outdoor winter clothing is covered under Dress Code/School Attire.  Students should dress properly for the weather.  Winter coats, hats, scarves, mittens/gloves, snow pants and boots all help to keep your child warm during recess. 

Thanksgiving Food Drive
As we prepare for Thanksgiving, All Saints Academy remembers those in our community who are less fortunate.  Our Thanksgiving Food Drive will be going towards Catholic Charities food shelf.  Paper bags have gone home with students.  Families are invited to donate boxed or canned food items to school.  Food bags can be dropped off between Nov. 14th -  18th in the front entry way of school.  If you have questions, please feel free to contact a member of the staff Social Concerns Committee. (Ms. Detra, Mrs. Decker, Mrs. Hoon.)

Playground Duty – Week of Nov. 21st -23rd    (11:00 am – 12:30 pm)
The office Playground Schedule calendar has been accidentally taken.  If you stopped in the office and picked it up with other papers, please return to the office.  Thank you.

BULLETIN BOARD
·      Cathedral/Tech Youth Wrestling is beginning.  For more information for K – 6th grade participation, please go to www.techyouthwrestling.teamopolis.com.
·      The SCAYBA In-house Basketball Program for boys & girls is available.  This program is for boys and girls in grades 1 – 5 who wish to work on developing and improving fundamental basketball skills while having fun.  Registration form is attached to this email and to the School Speak newsletter.
·      Family Lunch accounts need to be kept up to date. Families will receive notice if their balance is at or below $-10.00.  Your cooperation with this matter is most appreciated.
·      Sign Up for REMIND: The St. Cloud Campus would like to invite parents/guardians to sign up for REMIND. REMIND is a safe, free and easy way we can connect with parents through texting. It allows us to communicate with all parents instantly. Signing up is done through a unique code to Mrs. Marissa Bristow. Please text to 612-260-4578 and in the message enter @ef392. It is that easy. You will be added on to the parent list.  If you have signed up in the past, it is not necessary to sign up again.
·      Keep Collecting! - Continue to save Labels For Learning, Labels for Education (Campbell's. Swansons, Post, and Prego) only the UPC with the point value is accepted, Box Tops for Education, UPC's from Country Hearth and Village Hearth Products as part of the Loaves4Learning Program, pop and can tabs, old cell phones and used ink cartridges.  Keep saving them!

We will be celebrating Veteran’s Day at this Friday mass.  Please have your child dress in red, white & blue in honor of this special day!

NEW NEWS
Catholic Community Schools Update
Catholic Community Schools continues to take shape, looking forward to its inaugural school year beginning in July 2017. These news briefs will keep you abreast to recent developments and responses to inquiries.
What is Catholic Community Schools?
• It is an initiative from Bishop Kettler for the seven area Catholic elementary schools and Cathedral High School to form a school system.
• It allows schools to improve on and continue to collaborate on professional development opportunities, marketing, fundraising, enrollment and more.
Spaghetti Dinner, November 19th – Save the date & Join Us - As we celebrate All Saints Academy! November 19th , ASA will be hosting the Spaghetti Dinner.  There will a social beginning at 5:30 pm.  Dinner begins at 6:30 pm.  We will be recognizing Linda Heinen for the “Inspire Award” as well as volunteers and supporters of All Saints Academy.  Everyone is invited to A celebration of All Saints Academy: A Fun-Raiser and Friend-Raiser! There is no charge for the event!  Please RSVP by contacting the office at 251-5295 or email marissa.bristow@allsaintsmn.org.

Cathedral Open House
Cathedral will be hosting an Open House on Tuesday, November 15th from 6:30 – 8:30 pm at 312 7th Ave N., St. Cloud.  Open House starts in the Commons.  Enter Door #1 and proceed downstairs.  To pre-register, go to www.cathedralcrusaders.org.  You will be eligible to win prizes if you register online.  For additional info, please contact Matt Meyer at 257-2117, mmeyer@cathedralcrusaders.org.

Celebrate Festival of Lights at St. Cloud Hospital
Kick off the Christmas season! Bring your family and friends to the 28th annual Festival of Lights from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 1, in front of St. Cloud Hospital (6th Ave. N.). In addition to the traditional holiday lighting ceremony at 7 p.m., there will be horse-drawn trolley rides, reindeer, holiday carols by the Tech High School Chamber Choir, a living nativity by Messiah Lutheran Church, cookies and cocoa. Stop by the St. Cloud Hospital Gift Gallery for its annual holiday sale. The Festival of Lights is free and open to the public. Please bring non-perishable food items to donate to the Food Shelf.
