Summer Parent Newsletter
September 22, 2016

Every Thursday school is in session you will be receiving a link to the “Weekly Parent Newsletter”. Please read carefully. This will contain All Saints Academy, St. Cloud news for you and your family.

NOTE: New information will be under New News.  Previously published information will be located under Bulletin Board.

We are a Nut-safe building.  All snacks and lunches need to be peanut-free and nut-free. There is a snack list on School Speak under Announcements.  Thank you for helping to keep our school safe for all of our students.

NEW NEWS
Grandparents'/Special Friend Day is September 30th!
Grandparents’/Special Friend Day for Kindergarten – 6th grade is Friday, September 30th.  

The day will begin with hospitality with refreshments beginning at 12:15 pm followed by mass at 12:45 pm.  Grandparents may find a seat in church for their grandchildren and themselves. Grandchildren will be coming to church with their classroom teachers and will look for their grandparents.

Afterwards, there will be time for classroom activities until dismissal at the end of the day.  Refer to the invitation that came home in last week’s Thursday’s folder.  

Preschool Grandparents’/Special Friend Day
Tuesday/Friday students will be celebrating Grandparents’/Special Friend Day on Friday, Sept. 30th in the morning. 

Monday/Wednesday/Thursday students will be celebrating this special day on Thursday, Sept. 29th in the morning.  Invites are in this week’s Thursday folders in your child’s backpack. 

Preschool classrooms will welcome grandparents from 8:00 – 11:00 am.  Guests are welcome to spend part of the morning or the entire morning with students.  At 11:00 am the all-day preschoolers eat lunch in the cafeteria.  Grandparents are welcome to stay for lunch if they choose. 

Our half-day preschoolers are welcome to have lunch also with their grandparents.  If grandparents (and half-day preschoolers) plan on having lunch, please call the office by Tuesday, Sept 27th and let us know so that we make enough for everyone.  The adult lunch cost is $4.50 & a student lunch is $2.75, payable the day you have lunch.  Please refer to the invite for the menu that day. 

Spiritwear Online Store
All Saints Academy is offering some Spiritwear items on an online store.  Click on the link below to get to the ordering site.
  http://programs.rambowinc.com/login.php?UserID=asa&ReturnURL=http://www.rambow.com  The code is ASA.  The online form will automatically close on the deadline date of Friday, October 7th.  Ordered items will be delivered to the school.  The office will contact you when they arrive.

5/6 Knowledge Bowl
SC Campus would like to invite 5th and 6th graders to be part of our Knowledge Bowl team.  Knowledge Bowl (KB) is an academic competition that promotes academic achievement and rewards academic excellence.  KB promotes academics and helps develop leadership skills in a fun environment.  Information was handed out at Parent Meeting Night.  If you were unable to attend, please contact the office.  

If you have more questions about KB, please contact Mrs. Mary Cheryl Opatz, 6th grade teacher, marycheryl.opatz@allsaintsmn.org or our parent coach, Tara Voumard at wata9901@yahoo.com.  If you are interested in volunteering/driving for Knowledge Bowl, please let Mrs. Opatz know.

Paperwork Forms Needed
Please return all forms to the office from Paperwork Night.  If you have questions, please contact the school office, 251-5295.

Halloween Carnival
The PAC Halloween Carnival will be held Saturday, October 29th from 5:00 – 8:00 pm at the Waite Park school building.

Art Smart Classes
Mrs. Detra’s Art Smart classes will be starting in October.  Cost is $50/student.  Please complete forms and return to school by Wednesday, September 28th.
5/6th grade – Mondays, 3rd, 10th, 17th & 24th
3/4th grade – Tuesdays, 4th, 11th, 18th & 25th
1st/2nd grade – Wednesdays, 5th, 12th, 19th & 26th

BULLETIN BOARD
·      Sunday School at St. Peter’s begins in October during the 10:30 am mass on Sunday.  Preschool, Kindergarten & 1st graders will have an enrollment form in this Thursday folder.  Please check with your child’s back pack for the folder.  Please return the forms to the office when completed.
·      The Jubilate Choir is open to all students in grades Kindergarten – 6th grade.  The rehearsal & mass schedule is attached to this emailed newsletter.  If you have questions, please contact Laurie Kremer at 251-4831, Ext. 207, or email at lkremer@stpetestpaul.org.
·      Sign Up for REMIND: The St. Cloud Campus would like to invite parents/guardians to sign up for REMIND. REMIND is a safe, free and easy way we can connect with parents through texting. It allows us to communicate with all parents instantly. Signing up is done through a unique code to Mrs. Marissa Bristow. Please text to 612-260-4578 and in the message enter @ef392. It is that easy. You will be added on to the parent list.  If you have signed up in the past, it is not necessary to sign up again.
·      Keep Collecting! - Continue to save Labels For Learning, Labels for Education (Campbell's. Swansons, Post, and Prego) only the UPC with the point value is accepted, Box Tops for Education, UPC's from Country Hearth and Village Hearth Products as part of the Loaves4Learning Program, pop and can tabs, old cell phones and used ink cartridges.  ASA just received a check for $1450 from Coborn’s for Labels for Learning….keep saving them!
