October 9, 2014

Every Thursday school is in session you will be receiving a link to the  “Weekly Parent Newsletter”. Please read carefully. This will contain All Saints Academy, St. Cloud news for you and your family.

Please note that District 742 will not be in session October 27th & 28th.  All Saints Academy will be holding normal classes on those two dates.
There will not be any district transportation available on those two dates.  If you have questions, please contact Amanda Gjerde at 251-5295.  

1. Marathon Update - We are very pleased to report that the St. Cloud Campus Marathon raised $41,045.88!  Thanks to all of you, your friends, your relatives and your neighbors. 100% of these funds stay here at All Saints Academy.  Thank you to the Knights of Columbus for hosting and organizing this event.  If students still have money that they have collected and not turned into school, they can still do that and get their respective prizes.  We have 5 homerooms that will receive a Waffle Breakfast and 3 homerooms have earned a Donut & Juice Breakfast!  Congratulations to all students for all their hard work.

2. Reminder: Fall Break Oct. 16-17 – Thursday, October 16th and Friday, October 17th there will be no school for fall break. Also, there will not be a parent newsletter next week. If needed, FunZone still has a few openings on Thursday and Friday by pre-registration only. Please contact FunZone at (320) 281-5387 or sc.funzone@allsaintsmn.org for registration or additional information.

3.  PAA Basketball – If your 5th or 6th grade student is interested in playing basketball this season, please complete a PAA Authorization Form.  The form is on the website, go to Family Resources, St. Cloud Campus.  Please return to the office by Friday, October 31st.  If you are interested in coaching, please indicate that on the form.

4.  All Saints Day Mass - All Saints Academy will be having mass as a whole school on Friday, Oct. 31st at St. Michael's Church.  Everyone is welcome to join us in the morning as we celebrate our feast day.  Bishop Donald Kettler will be saying mass at 9:00 am for us.  On October 23rd, the 4th graders will joining St. Peter's parishioners for mass.  Everyone is welcome to join us at St. Peter's.  Please spread the word.

4. Experience All Saints Academy Day – You may know children (PreK - 5th grade) who might be interested in learning more about All Saints Academy. Consider inviting him/her to Experience All Saints Academy Day, Tuesday, October 28th.  They are welcome to stay for part of the day or the whole day.  Prospective students will enjoy meeting other students, teachers and staff.  They will participate in our daily schedule, classes, activities and lunch is on us.  If you know of a child who might be interested in joining us for the day, please have them make a reservation by calling 251-5295!

5. Make A Difference Day - All Saints Academy along with the St. Cloud Times is supporting the Make A Difference program.  This year the focus is on homelessness in the community.  Your family can help by donating gently used or new coats, hats and mittens.  There will be a collection box in the entry way beginning next week, where you may place your donation.  The box will be in our building until Friday, Oct. 24th. Thank you in advance for your generosity.

6. Home & School - We had a very successful meeting Tuesday evening.  Our new co-presidents will be Jen Stueve & Jen Buckentine.  The Secretary position will be held by Jen Jankowski.  And our Treasurer will be Maria Kosiba.  They are in full swing with planning the Halloween Carnival.  It will be held Saturday, Oct. 25th at the WP Campus building. There will also be monthly meetings throughout the year.  The group is open to parents at All Saints Academy.  If you need to fulfill volunteer hours, this is a wonderful opportunity that doesn’t require day-time volunteering.  Please contact Jen Stueve, allfleetleasing@yahoo.com or Jen Buckentine at jenbucke@hotmail.com.  More info coming about the Halloween Carnival.

7. The Annual Spaghetti Dinner is Back!! - It’s back!!…. And it’s Free!!!! Join Us - As we celebrate All Saints Academy on All Saints Day!

8. Lunch Schedule – Recess is after lunch now.  The new lunch schedule is as follows:
·      11:00 – 5th grade
·      11:05 – 6th grade
·      11:10 – 4TH grade
·      11:20 – 1st grade
·      11:25 – Kindergarten
·      11:30 – 2nd grade
·      11:35  - 3rd grade

9.  Spiritwear Sale - We hope many of you took advantage of our online store for ASA spiritwear.  If you missed the ordering window, we have a many items for sale in the office.  You are welcome to come shopping in the main office. Every Wednesday is Spiritwear Day and we invite students, staff and adults to wear their spiritwear on Wednesdays.


10. Sunday School at St. Peter's – Sunday School will be starting Sunday October 26th.  Registration forms and Calendars are on the website or in the gathering spaces of the churches.  Sunday School welcomes 3 year olds through first graders during the 10:30 mass to pray and sing together.  We learn about our Catholic faith, hear God's word and do crafts to help us remember what we learned.  I am getting class lists ready so please send your registration forms in ASAP.  You do NOT need to be a member of St. Peter's or St. Paul's for your children to attend, ALL are welcome! 11. Bulletin Board
·    Birthday Treats – If your child will be sharing a birthday treat with his/her class this year, we encourage you to be health conscious and peanut/tree nut safe when sending these treats to school. Some healthy snack ideas include grain products (crackers, pretzels, cereal bars), fruit, vegetables, milk products (cheese, yogurt, pudding) or meat/protein (sunflower seeds and cold cuts). If you have questions regarding allergies of students in your child’s class, please contact the teacher or Mrs. Gjerde.
·    Sign Up for REMINDThe St. Cloud Campus would like to invite parents/guardians to sign up for REMIND.  REMIND is a safe, free and easy way we can connect with parents through texting.  It allows us to communicate with all parents instantly.  Signing up is done through a unique code to Mrs. Bristow.  Please text to 612-260-4578 and in the message enter @ef392.  It is that easy.  You will be added on to the parent list.
·    Pumkinfest Ocober 17th at Lake George – free for ages 12 and under from 4-7pm. Hayrides, petting zoo, arts and crafts and more. Don’t forget your costume!
